Chinese Consulate General in Erbil Held Summary&Sharing Reception for the "Generation Z" Youth Elite Delegation from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq Visiting China

On September 10, 2026, Chinese Consulate General in Erbil held a summary and sharing reception for the "Generation Z" youth elite delegation from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq following their visit to China. More than 80 guests attended the event, including representatives of the delegation, Vision Education Group and its affiliated universities and schools, and the Language College of Salahaddin University. Consul General Liu Jun attended and delivered remarks. Local mainstream media such as Rudaw and Kurdistan 24 provided on-site coverage.

Liu Jun congratulated the delegation members on their successful visit to China. He said that, with careful preparations made by Shanghai International Studies University and strong support of Vision Education Group and the College of Languages of Salahaddin University, the delegation experienced China firsthand, felt the beauty of China, broadened horizons, and gained friendship. He encouraged the delegation members to share their experiences and observations in China with their peers, encourage more and more young people in the KRI to learn Chinese and deepen their understanding of China, and inject more youth strength into sustaining the friendship between the two sides and strengthening cultural exchanges.

Ms. Heyam Aqil, Operation&Strategy Director of Vision Education Group, and Dr. Saman Hussein Omar, Dean of the College of Languages of Salahaddin University, also delivered remarks respectively. They expressed appreciation for the Chinese side’s efforts in organizing the outstanding young people from the KRI visiting China, and the willingness for further strengthening educational cooperation and people-to-people exchanges with the Chinese Consulate General.

During the event, members of the delegation actively shared their experiences through various vivid ways, like group presentations, video screenings, interactive Q&A sessions and Chinese speeches. They all said that the trip to China had benefited them greatly, as they not only directly experienced the achievements of Chinese modernization, but also personally experienced the charm of traditional Chinese culture. They expressed their willingness to continue learning about China and contribute to friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.
